Modeling Wave wall panel

Can someone give me some tips or techniques on how you would model a wave like pattern. I would like to model something like the Dune pattern on this site http://www.modulararts.com/panels/designs.html

Thanks for any help!!

Use an image of wavy lines applied to a displacement map, assuming you need to alter the actual geometry. If not, use a bump map.

Thanks I’ll give a displacement map a shot. My previous attempt at bump maps didn’t give enough detail to cast the shadows properly. The manufacturer couldn’t send me models but would send repeating images.

here are a couple tests using bump and displace.

Thanks Blenderallday. I’ll check out your blend file. Looks better than my attempt. I’m rendering now. I ended up using crazy bump to create a normal map. I used that along with bump map.

You could use a lot of things. All comes down to realism vs. rendering speed vs. flexibility.

I did what you are trying to do with actual geometry and it renders really nicely…

All I did was start out with a Plane that I scaled so It was half of a BU on the Z axis and the I added a loop cut on the X axis and moved the verts of the center loop cut to form the wave. I then added a few loops cuts to form the crease or hard edge where I wanted it to be based on the referance photo I used. pretty simple and alot easier, IMHO, than using a displacement map.
