Hello everybody.
I´m La Fracción del Averno Studio (LFDA Studio), an spanish amateur and non-lucrative indie game studio.
Today, i will show to the Blender Comunnity my work in progress, La Fracción del Averno.
La Fracción del Averno intended to be a open project game, where everybody can colaborate with little aportations.
But at the moment, I need to create the heart of the LFDA team, people that can work in it seriously and, no constantly, but weekly or monthly.
The game intended to be a great game, but I´m going to make it step by step, little by little. Is a non-lucrative, a hobby gamemaking .
Ok. Clarified this, I´m going to explain how is going to be the game.
WARNING: This game is make for a multireligious team. This story don’t intended offend the religious sentiment of anybody. This a constructive critic for all religions, but is a method to highlight how much they contributes to enrich the cultures of the people, and a channel to show more respect to them
Story: Between the heaven and the hell.
The war has razed the seaside province of Galea.
The Church dominates all the region brutally. The Crucifiers control the civil poblation.
Satania, the rival faction, has retired to his island.
The Gaia army, the pacifist agent in Galea, has missing. His last trail is last in the Meigo Forest.
The effects of the war are starting to show
Creatures of the macabre limits of the foklore walk over the land: werewolf and withches, golems and other forgotten artifacts, mouras, phantoms and specters, all kinds of monsters lurking among the trees.
Evil satanic machines, remnants of war, roam in the old battlefields.
Even the nature is corrupted: the forests devour passers. Fungus aberrations hunts in night.
Galea, aforetime the Fertile, today the Cursed.
Where the death is not a excuse.
In a little village, Jakmar, the most annoying mercenary, continue swindle and cheat to the Church.
The archpriets of Compostela is furious. This mercenary jokes on them.
This damned mercenary is recruiting people for her resistance.
A VERY annoying resistance.
A idiot with spike hair.
A crazy chicken.
A lizzard.
A empty armor.
A witcher.
A gambler.
A traitor.
A oriental cat warrior.
A phantom prisioner in a puppet.
A wildfire.
A stupid bard.
And a bug bibliotecary.
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? A CIRCUS? THIS IS A SERIOUS GAME! Or not…
About the game.
La Fracción del Averno is an action rpg game, inspirated in the medieval Galicia, with a very important humoristic component and a gameplay based on combats (baseds in the timing) and the combination of the powers of the thirteen main characters, solving every combat like a puzzle.
The game esthetic is inspired in the celtic and nordic culture, combinated with a baleful character design and a bit of steampunk.
The game graphics intended to be artistic and non-realistic, but, at the moment, are very simple and plane.
In the future, we propose to release the game like a Free to Play, but, at the moment, is a hobby game =)
The game intended to be very big and complex, but, because the storyline is divided in small areas, we can make it little by little, area by area.
What we need now?
Now, we need collaborators.
The profile that we want in our contributors:
Not professional, but a bit experienced.
Take this game seriously. It will be an indie amateur game, but we put our love in it building. I don’t demand full colaboration, only weekly or monthly dedication.
I only demand you the desire of see the game finished.
Of course, you can leave the project in any moment, or combine this project with another.
And, a please for all collaborators: if you go to be absent in a large period of time, please, notice it before (we understand incidentals).
And now, what colaborators we need?
Not many. Only:
-Character modelers (1-3)
-Texturizers (1)
-Animators (1)
-2D Artist (1-2, optional)
You can play differents roles, of course.
At the moment, the teams is formed with the main game designer and character/scenary modeler, and a amateur built modeler.
How is the workflow?
-Character modelling:
I will pass to the modelers a concept art with a character. I will tell their the characteristics of the model, etc, etc.
When the character will be finished, pass it to the texturizers. The modeler can rigged the model too.
-Character texturing
The characters textures are too plane and simple (the game hasn’t realistic graphics), so, the only work of the texturizers is make the textures a little more detailed: a few of wrinkles, little details for make the character more artistic…
-Animator.
The combat system desgin need few animations. When a character is finished, I put his armature in two or three poses, for lead the animator how is the needed animation. Also, i indicate the details to the animator.
-2D Artists (optional)The 2D artist isn’t a priority, but is helpful. The 2D artist make the promotional ilustrations, the HUD, other 2D elements… (don’t confuse it with the texturizer)
And, where is the programmer? A game needs a programer…
Yes, but, at the moment, we haven’t any programable character. And, because the 2.7 Blender version proximity, I decided that is better wait for this version for programming, for avoid compatibility problems and benefit us of their improves.
When the 2.7 version will be release, i will put an advert for found programmer.
Roadmap.
When the team has been formed, we will work in the game development, area by area, in this thread. You can send our an email to:
or ask anything here.
And, when the game is developed enough, i will make a blog, or website, where you can download it, and collaborate in their development. We could release differents updates, for include more contain (story, scenaries, game modes…). But this is a very future plan.
At the moment, I’m want to work with a little team, for make carefully and slowly the game. In the future, we will decide what way we continue.
I’m going to wait interesteds in the game. When enough people wants join in the development, I start to explain the detailed story, combat system, gamemaking, etc.
Game Development Phases:
-Phase 1: Basics characters and animations.
-Phase 2: Making combat and gameplay basic mechanics, more characters, making firsts scenaries.
-Phase 3: Story mechanics and development.
-Phase 4, 5 , 6…: continue
the story development.
And, now, the best part: screen shots and concept art.
