Awesome! It almost looks like stop motion, but it adds to the effect. Nice animating and rendering. Cycles or BI?

Thanks!
Cycles.

Wow, a great short film, ania! The sequence is wonderful, and the animation very entertaining to watch! I felt a mixture of horror and cuteness simultaneously. You should be very proud!

Awesome! Awesome awesome awesome!! You should design movie monsters.

Awesome job, very nice animation, I loved the stop motion feeling and the idea was simpky great.

I love this!

wow really great work! Is the look of the "bad guy"wanted this way? I mean… it reminds me a bit of a penis! No offense intended, is a bit the way it looks, but maybe is even intentional!

Anyway, I love the work, the overall style and how you animated it! Thumbs up!

Wow, very cool indeed. I’d love to see how it would look with a bit of motion blur.

Very very nice!!! Nice modelling, animation and feel. It’s very organic. The black & white as well as the stop motion look add a lot.

Do you mind telling us how long it took to render?

You are so awesome. Great animation and almost everything!

I would also like to know the rendertimes.

It took about 20-30 min per frame, there are about 1700 frames. I had to use CPU, because my GPU had not enough memory.
I attach some pictures of the rendering process.
The material was coloured, with RGB channels for diffuse and two velvet channels. After the render, I could use those channels separately for compositing (with the Separate RGBA node).
The far background (which had no direct contact with the characters) was rendered separately and only once.

Thanks for sharing with us! But I’m a bit confused about. Is everything in the background geometry or is the part at the back just an image?

I understand. I hope what I said did not offend you, it was not my intention at all, and as I said I loved your work!

Woow I love this!!! the black and white look is superb
It reminds me a lot of Samorost’s graphic style!

Zajebiste! Congratulations ania - great concept, very good modelling and animation, love the overall climate!

I like it.
Oh yeah.
excellent amazing work.
