Sprycle: A sprite animation cycle utility.

UPDATE: 09/04/14

Sprycle has been re-written. The generator is now a proper blender add-on, and the BGE playback system is a very convenient module, which can be controlled with logic bricks, or python, or both.

OLD POST:

This utility can help you create sprite animation cycles from various sprite sheets. It includes a texture animation component (TexAnim), which can be used to “play” the generated “frame” data.

Get it here: sprycle.zip

I demonstrate basic usage in this video:

Hope someone finds this interesting/useful.

This is interesting Goran!

I watched the full video, there was nothing mentioned about playing an animation just once; a non-looping animation.

Is there a way to do that with your setup?

No, but here’s a video that shows how it can be modified to provide that feature:

Hope that helps.

Ahaha perfect.

The best part about the video are the iterators. That’s really cool and interesting. I’ve thought of a few other things I could use iterators for.

Thanks (:

Nice. Glad you found your interest in the Blender Game Engine once again.

Sprycle has been updated (look at first post).

Nice work Goran,

Any way you could make a sprite generator?

like I have a character, doing a series of animations, and it uses cameras to generate isometric sprites?

like final fantasy tactics?

but generated using freestyle and models?

If im trying to install it nothing happens.
Normally blender shows me the addon to enable it but now it just does nothing if im trying to install the zip
