Eyes separate from body, how to rig?

I have a problem with how to proceed rigging my character, as I have never done this before.

Right now, the character consists of three objects: His body and two eyeballs. I started rigging the body when I realized that I’ll need to be able to move the eyes. Do I need two more armatures (1 for each eyeball), or can one armature work with the body and both eyeballs?

Thanks

I don’t believe you need any armature for eyes…
Can you just parent the eyes to the nearest head bone? Then just rotate the eyes.
I could be wrong, or missing something, as i just switched from Maya to blender a few weeks ago and I haven’t actually done this in blender. But that’s a pretty standard way of doing that.

You can leave the eyes as separate objects and just use bones from the main armature to move them. Just make sure they are parented to the correct bones and use 100% weight on each eye.

Here’s a good tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkO7PZRpIHU (you can skip the first part on creating/texturing the eyes if you like).

Ahh…You guys are right. Thanks so much! That was too simple, lol.
