Yep. I think my angles are a bit messed up though.

New WIP Orthographic-
lol I did the ship to it's the thumbnail of my sketch book- http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?293964-Phoenix-Smith-s-Sketch-Book
Updated, there are some perspective issues :P
Very nice work! I look forward to seeing more of your sculpts with dyntopo! ;)
All UV image editor. :) WIP-
This project is amazing! Keep at it guys!
Nice work man! This is looking really promising as a game and a showcase of the BGE!
Thread's still full of gorgeous stuff... I will have to start contributing again... ;) As far as the whole Cycles debacle, I love it, but my computer does it so slowly... BI is just so much faster.
How realistic would you need it to be? I may be interested. Basically modeling, unwrapping and rendering. So the whole thing?
Thanks! I learned everything I know about hard-surface sculpting from your tutorials. ;) Facepalming at suzzane? Why? Those were my first tests with Yafaray...
Darn! Your work just keeps gettin better. ;)
1 million in game currency? :P
? Wait they are/have removed edge rendering?! It was so much faster than freestyle! :( Well it is fun to look back over the thread anyways. ;)
I have good experience with tracking in blender and would be interested in helping you out. PM sent.
I have done it multiple times as well. ;)
When you make an error while writing on paper you look for the undo key.
Wowza! That is awesome work Craig! The eye is my favorite part.
Get your mind out of the gutter! ;) Nice paintings by the way. :)
When you admire SSS and caustics on real world objects.
When you see an object in real life and imagine it in wireframe.
When you instantly scan a room for good tracking points, and get giddy when you find them. ;)
Any blender heads want to make a squad of blenderers in PS2? :p
If you don't have the game it can be downloaded through here-...
Nice stuff! The force field tests are cool as is the ice shader. Keep up the good work. ;)
Congrats on the Blender Guru post! ;) I really wish the uv image editor had a layer system right now, but using transparent alpha 3d image-planes almost compensates for that. :)
(Also for anyone...
I got a wacom intuos 5 pro! ;) It is super helpful for sculpting, but also blend-painting. :) First test-
Good! I actual reported the image and asked why it was not featured! ;)
I am confused by your post. ;) What exactly would we be working on? I would be interested but it seems a tad confusing.
That stinks... :(
Planet Side 2 is a huge free to play FPS.The three factions war for the planet Auraxis and each has particular weaponry and vehicles. By following the link below you can download it, but also you get...
TOP ROW! Great art. :)
Seriously? You all think a concept artist cares if one tiny 3D artist uses his work to along with many other images to make a model. I mean most 3D pieces will not look just like the concept, and if...
"Currently, it is free to use, but there are plans to make it commercial in the future, after it is fully developed. It will however always have some free versions, and active betatesters will get...
Yes... It is enjoyable laughing over previous works... ;)
Thanks man! ;) I realized that most of the other sketch-books have some kind of "theme". Mine is basically completely random, depending on whatever has caught my eye. :)
Baking done! (mostly) Still have a lot more color texture work to do, but bump and AO are done. Render in BI for now.
Very well done! Just a few crits. Mainly the color and texture of the skin and eyes...
Thats darn cool! Nice concept art! ;)
Guys hold on. Using concept art as a reference and not mentioning the artist is legal. You are not stealing their work. You are making a 3D model. It is kind to mention where you got concept art, but...
Sorry if that sounded harsh. There have been some "volunteered work threads". Apologies if needed. ;)
Why was this under paid work? This should have been in the volunteer work section if no one gets paid.
Good stuff! Nice texturing! ;)
Why would you post this then? That is ridiculous.
Nice! I think combining 2D and 3D like that is awesome. Almost a layer system... :)
Retopo done for Piranha man. ;) Mutires sculpting (testing ray-pump)-
Quick test on using motion blur and custom bolt brush. I used the filter<shadow<-.2. The negative value makes it bump out (or in I forget).
The thread is not dead! I a made a small amount of progress on a head piece but I am, a bit stuck. :)
@Sanctuary Good stuff! I need a tablet as well. ;) The smear brush is one of favorites since you can get nice soft shading. Try using smooth stroke (if you already haven't)
@Craig Jones I hope...
Awesome idea! I started a community sketchbook, if anyone would like to contribute visit it here-
First off let me say that I am not the one who came up with this technique. Craig Jones has a thread here- http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?291907-Craig-s-2d-painting-in-Blender which...
1 Hour + Dyntopo +30 minutes and vertex paint =
Very nice! I think this is a great idea. Even though it is a simple enough task this speeds up work. ;)
Active WIP thread for a mech I am working on- http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?317573-Robot-WIP
Test renders in Yafa, excuse the image quality, the forum resizer killed them. :P
Update: Most of the legs are done now and some of the frontal torso. My plan is to finish the bot at this level of detail and then come back in with some hard surface sculpting, retopo and extra...
PM sent as well.
Thanks, I consider myself a pretty fast modeler. ;) That is an amazing mech! I can not imagine how many pieces would go into that.
Retopo was finished last night! ;)
Hardsurface sculpt. I know some of the lines are a little shaky, but what are you going to do with a mouse? ;) Retopo is done, I just need to render it.
Small update on the legs. I started the thigh pieces last night, but they are not looking perfect yet. They make the feet look small.
Thanks for the comments guys!
@NRK- The very top pieces are supposed to be kneecaps of sorts, but it may be a bit hard to tell without thigh pieces. :) Also trying to cover as much space as...
Hard-Surface Sculpt. Started retopo and about 50% done, but still have a way to go.
I do not know what to call this thread as I do not know what the end result will be exactly. No concept art this time so it could be a domestic robot, or a warrior one. Wait and see. :p Started on...
Awesome work! Is it a external render or Cycles?
Sick! The textures are awesome! ;)
very nice! What kind of motion blur settings did you use?
Very clean topology! Nice work so far. ;)
Sorry if this is obvious but can I make the tabs bigger? This looks amazing for what I am trying to do, but the tabs are too small for me to glue.
Edit: Found it! Sorry about that. Great script! I...
Awesome stuff! The eye texture on the creature looks a tad flat though. Nice texturing overall. ;)
I would be interested. Sent email.
Thanks! My first BlenderNation header with Yafa. ;)
Retopo of the first one-
Trying out some hard surface sculpting in dyntopo-
Hard-surface dynamic topology model and retopologized one.
Hard surface speed sculpts (around an hour for each)-
Some screenshots showing different tools (lowpoly modeling and texturing, dynamic topology, hard-surface modeling)-
How much are you going to sell the commercial version for?
4 months! Did you have experience in CG before hand? Pretty good, one thing being it looks like a normal plane, but that's actually an interesting take on the idea. ;) The cockpit looks a bit...
1-hour speed sculpt with materials and rendering included-
Thanks! 1-hour speed sculpt including lighting and rendering.
So photon mapping is faster, but less realistic than ray tracing? Crystal Pumpkins in Yafa-
Every one report one of these posts and ask the mods to sticky this! It would be useful for new users.
I am very interested and have a lot of background with lowpoly work. Sent email.
Okay. I will try it out. So far Yafa has been really easy to use, but I would like to get more advanced. ;)
I have not yet. I tried it on the box scene but it looked weird. ;)
Yea. It is way faster than Cycles, for me at least.
Yea. I kind of figured that. I tried Yafaray to see if it was faster than Cycles (since I am stuck with an AMD for now) and it way faster. The images it renders seem to be the same quality and with...
It is! ;) I really like it so far. How does it compare to Vray?
Then comment on the material. You can't find anything to say?
Why can't you give your opinion on the model itself? ;) Thanks!
I downloaded Yafaray two day ago and it is pretty cool. This the result of my (short) learning. Concept by BlenderCookie.com. Modeled in Blender (obviously ). Rendered in Yafaray....
Nice work! Good modeling skills and composition. Geometric style is so freeing ;)
The Blender Cookie Air Force. ;) Yafaray is easy to learn, and looks as good as Cycles without the hour long render times and noise. This rendered in 2 minutes. :D (I am not a Yafaray developer I...
The Blender Cookie Air Force. ;) Not too shabby using Yafaray for two days. :p
Would we have to actually model/sculpt a sponge or would a cube do? I might be interested.
+1 Straight lines!!!
I was saving this model until I thought I could render it well, and with Yafaray I think I can. ;) This is a WIP though.
