 That's very well done! Very mm vivid, but I love it! Everything is perfect about it! A very expressive artwork! I love those kind of artworks! I give you 1 million stars; unfortunately, this board only offers 5 stars so I will give you 5 stars!
I will never eat spagetti again :/
Amazing amounts of detail! nice work :)
Amazing stuff, i love it.
Great textures and lighting. Composition doesnt tell much of a story.... but I really don't give a shit.
5 from me.
It looks very disgusting.
But very good in technical perspective.
I'm gonna echo most of the posts.
5 stars,nuff said.

That is absolutely awesome, man! The only thing that bothers me is his left arm. Itīs way too big[or that angle is just confusing me]
As traitor said, the composition doesn't tell much about what has happened here at all. But again, that is a minor issue.
Texturing is bang on and the lighting is perfect.
Great job Bassam.

omg.. at first, I only saw the top of the image, but then I scrolled down n I was like OMFGWTFTHATSSOKEWL
really awesome!:)

well everything that can be said, already has been ;)
except - why is his left hand so huge? it's about twice as big as the right.
The left hand is larger due to swelling from hitting it with a hammer.
Gaaaa. Great work.
Just amazing... this amount of details (I found the fullsize version on your site :)). I really love the light situation and the lens distortion. The scene slightly reminds me of Hellraiser, when Frank starts to rebuild.

You are going to post this on the main 3D forums, like CG talk, right? Gallery, dear god, Gallery!
that's really nice looking. I love it.
My only crits would be the right arm being not as well textured as the other flesh/bloody part. Maybe you didn't want that part to be as gory as the rest of the image but for me it kinds of look a bit blurry there and doesn't "blend" perfectly with the character and surrounding...well that's compared to the others part of the character&object with the environment....because seriously, that's some crazy work you got there. Totally amazing.
5*
This reminds me of the Bodyworlds (http://www.bodyworlds.com/index.html)exhibit. Five stars for chutzpah alone.

Wow! Color me impressed.
You should put this up on CGtalk.
BTW, I was trying to find your site to check out your other works, but the domain seems to be parked or something.
Might be the fastest gallery entry here ever. :D

It's been a good long while since my last post because i no longer have an internet connection at home so i have to browse the web on my cell phone or at a cafe...
Anyway... This is an amazing work of art Bassam, i've been inspired a great deal by this piece. I love the way the character is posed, you can almost feel his anguish. Im curious as to why you decided to call the image "tube". It definately does not describe the shock and awe effect given off by the gruesome image. How did our victim here die?
Just curious...
P.S. If you made this available on the deviant prints site i would definately buy a print for my room. Just a thought... maybe you can make a bit of cash off of this :p

i just cant beleive that........how did you make that man....wow nice work

14-Nov-06, 17:57
Ven0mSevenX well, I don't tend to think too long about titles- the tube is also the subway/underground/metro- just the location of where he is. What makes you think he's dead? ;)
ooh, interesting idea- I didn't know deviantarts did that- something to consider, thanks.
@ndy,bataraza,Venom pungapower rulez! just wait till we get the punga button in blender, then we'll add punga to all our images... now that's power.
Framedworld yeah, I posted to cgtalk, it takes a while for things to popup through the moderation there- plus I kinda messed up the post the first time
Ecks thanks man! yeah, I was going to push some parts further, but I got sooo burnt out towards the end- there are quite a few rough edges in there-that small arm/hand is quite hack, but I felt it got lost enough in the image that I could get away with it (heh)
Poor guy, getting run over by a train and such, but why was he out in the middle of the tracks? Was he emo or something? And why did the track break in the bottom right corner of the image?
The detail in this is amazing, 5 stars!

It's revolting. I was wondering why one hand is so much bigger than the other. Also, there are so many lights in your wireshot! I would love to see a 'the making of' here.
I guessed as soon as I saw it that the guys wasnt dead. Whether or not that is correct, it certainly seems to me that he is either some kind of mutant-y thing, or is falling apart...haha obviously.
Awesome image. Very VERY good.

This is intense. I can't bring myself to say "beautiful"... how about "beautifully executed?"
I just hope it's a still frame from your next animated film so we can get some backstory!

The technique here is stunning. While there are a lot of questions here, with regard to whether he's alive or dead, what happened to him, why is his hand big, what is up with the track, etc., but I think the best answer is no answer. Part of what makes this work so intriguing and powerful (I guess that is the right word) is that you don't know what happened, your own imagination makes it more.
Very nicely executed. This is a tribute to you and Blender.

hia folks-
there are many lights for many reasons ;)
some to mimic the physical lights in the scene
quite a few buffer lamp setups for lighting various elements (lighting for effect)
bouncelights
negative lights for extra shadows in some areas
and finally, the whole thing is split into layers, and each layer have it's own set of lights (and some common ones)
I don't have a making off, but I did save 61 in progress shots of the image
if you guys want, I'll stick them in the sequencer and make a one minute or so "progress" timelapse.. what do you say?
That's this image is really a great job and we'd like the timelapse, thanks!:)

I gotta say, that's a great looking website you've got, too. (I know, slightly off-topic, but I'm not about to start a whole new thread just to compliment slikdigit's website...)
Strieght to the gallery and as many stars as you like, but please - warn us about how gory it is in the title.

27-Nov-06, 12:08
thanks! I'll do a timelapse this week.
Yogyog- I didn't consider/think it would offend anybody, sorry. I tried to add one just now, but couldn't figure out how to edit the title; I hope you're not too traumatised :o. I'll for sure keep your comment in mind for the next time I do an image or animation that might reasonably offend or scare anybody.
I'm not offended per say - it's a fantastic pice of work! I was thinking the warning could be added as it moves to the gallery.
I'd love to see this timelapse, anyway.
Stunning work, the texturing is brilliant! It's pretty grosh though ... why did I had to see this before going to bed ... well, sleep tight.
Pretty sure you don't know the dutch musician Spinvis, if you did you'd probebly know the song Lotus Europa in witch Spinvis sings about he dissolving in a swimming pool. This work reminded me of that song. If you get the change, listed to it, you might find it interesting.. :)
Really wounderfully done Bassam. How long did this project take?
Take care.

I agree with that - a very intense peice of work. Very, very well done, and definately worthy of a spot in the gallery.
This image makes me come back to it over and over. It is cool in many ways. The environment is great colors and textures are very cool. Nice comp also.
His left hand is the least of his worries.
re why left hand so big: I think he's as confused as we are ;)
Gruesomely great work.
this one stopped me in my tracks. amazing.
That is amazing!! Beats my pawn chess piece lol

Hey, thanks guys- Roger, just saw your comment- what you said makes a lot of sense in the context of what I was thinking when I made the image. It took an embarassingly long time to make, because I was just working on it to relax
"between things" and had no problem just abandoning for weeks sometimes- work half an hour then.. well, you get the picture.
