Ha Ha Sago, fun and crazy, just great.
It's a while I didn't came back on this forum, lot of work ! And it was a pleasure to come back with that funny movie.
I liked the smoothness and the talking. I would probably tried to get a more "from inside" voice, but that's really nice anyway.
Congrat for a first anim.

I agree with enricoderic, try putting in a little reverb
Hello
I guess that if you show this work to an animation studio, you're engaged
Tecnically excelent
In the other side the animation/story don't stand the movie lenght
But I'm far from the good person to talk about "toon" movies
I barely like them
Probably you should animate/distort the character more?!
Anyway, high level work
Bye
Great short Sago :D love it!
Hahaha, great!
Just the right amount of *weird*, to make it hilarious. ^^
Could be snappier(?) in parts, though. Like more rapid eye movement.. etc.

great stuff dude,
my favorite parts were
the baby losing its mind in the very first segment, cracks me up
the lines, "what a minute", "i must be losing my mind", and "i can still hear sombody breathing", haha!
i look forward to more animations, more characters and more dialog!! by the way this wasnt as good as your other animation "man on man"........
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha I love it! Ist that made from your image for that contest.. That.. hm.. the one where i asked a super idiotic question.. hmm.. whatever.. Love the movie.. hahahahah
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/CSCC.jpg
oh and how do you go about moddeling hands?
What in the world?! That must be one of the wackies 3d animation I've ever seen. Freaking weird and awesome!

That's a nice animation ! But when will the insided character get out ? :D !
When I watched it for the first time, I could feel his hand in my mouth ! lol ;) !
Very good work again ! :) !

Hahaha...awesome!
Very good looking skin by the way. Would be cool to see that animation done with an SSS shader.
**update**
You know, the more I look at the animation the better that skin looks. Wow. Did you use SSS?
Man that was good! The models, the textures, the animation - Great! And the audio is really good too. The main characters voice was a bit odd in a few places, but the timing and sound effects were perfect!
It's kind of depressing actually... You had a full production staff and a couple of months to do this right  And you're actually an ex-lead animator from Pixar right?
Very high level of finish every where, good work :(

Haha... that was great work Sago!
It's great seeing some more animations being made with blender, and such neat ones too.
Aligorith
Really good, Sago.
I like it.
That's real fun and crazy Sacha, to be expected of course :).
The character is really incredible and has lovely materials. The animation has it's own unique style, absolutely perfect for this animation! The way the hand goes in and out of the mouth is really cool. Very cool!
Yeepers! Very inspiring stuff - wow.

I can't download this. Maybe I'm timing out because I'm in Japan. How big is it?
I didn't like it that much(just my personal view, I do think it is well made), but I'm realived that you're sence of humor had class.
@bugman: It 8mb.
I can't download this. Maybe I'm timing out because I'm in Japan. How big is it?
Geez man, is this your subtle way of saying that you're in Japan? Yeah, like henrymop said, it's 8 Mb, don't know why it's not working for you. If you got any problems concerning the downloading, just take it up with the host Wu-Man.
Anyway, thanks for all the replies.
I myself kinda agree with OTO, the story and animation could be better for this lenght. The original idea had more (dynamic) jokes, but while making it lots got lost. Started depending too much on the weirdness. Dunno....
Ist that made from your image for that contest.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/CSCC.jpg
Yep, started it that weekend. I already had the idea for this animation, and that WC seemed a great time to start. 2 flies in 1 hit. So I made the animation within 1 month.
oh and how do you go about moddeling hands?
I dunno, just push some verts or something. So I guess it doesn't bother you the hand has only 3 fingers and 1 thumb?
ChojinDSL - no SSS shader. Just a rampshader (a bit of red in the shadow-areas).
That's real fun and crazy Sacha, to be expected of course :).
Are we on a first name basis already? Well, I'm okay with that, Francy.
haha, just kidding Sander. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/big_smile.gif
henrymop - I'm totally cool with it. Can't please you all..... but did you say my sense of humor had class? That's.... so.... uncool.... kinda harsh, man...... kinda harsh......... haha

Geez man, is this your subtle way of saying that you're in Japan?Actually, it was my subtle way of saying how bout you post it on a more accessible host, like, say yousendit.com or 4shared.com? No offense to Wu or anything...
I don't know if it's true of Japan only, but I've had a few cases where I've found that certain, ahem, European servers seem to somehow manage to drop the the first two WWs in WWW.
Ah... Just noticed Toudou managed to download it... DOH!

I started work on my version of Super Wu. Hope you don't mind :P
i will answer for him.......yes he is ok with it......and he would like you to begin right away......now......go now.....Super Wu!
you got any problems concerning the downloading, just take it up with the host Wu-Man.
or you can take it up with my right fist (thunder) and my left fist (lightning)
LOL
Good job man :).
Peace :).

Awesome work Sago, I've seen some awesome work made from Blender and I still can't believe all this from a freeware 3D software. Oh and I also checked out your photobucket, kool characters and great sense of humor.

lo0ol as allways, goooood stuff, cgtalk stuff for sure, have you posted it there?
Ah... Just noticed Toudou managed to download it... DOH!
Then I guess I can't help you with that one.... so for the 2000th time, stop bugging me, man! haha, get it? Bugging me, man? For the 2000th time? Get it?..... okay.... that was stupid. henrymop will think twice calling my sense of humor classy.
kaeru - thanks man. Peace back at ya.
mustangryder66 - Thanks Daniel. yeah, it's still amazing Blender is free. It's an awesome program, and the only limitations are we as the users.
lo0ol as allways, goooood stuff, cgtalk stuff for sure, have you posted it there?
Nope, no CGTalk yet. Mainly cause I'm not using my own bandwidth, and I haven't got a clue how fast it would go there.
Love y'all,
Sago
This is solid work man. You could pretty easily win a suzanne award for this.

I just pinged simplecartoons.com and nothing came back. I don't know how other people are getting this, but that domain doesn't exist for me. Can somebody post it at www.yousendit.com or someplace? I'm dying to see it.
Please don't die, it's absolutely not worth it.
Do you want it to be sent to your hotmail? I can try yousendit, but msn is also an option.
It's just hillarious. Well thought!
Lol, that was messed up... The... Outside man? was a little too static at some times- needed more eye twitching :D
Well, I can at least say it was original... 4 stars
Great job Sago! Five stars.

Hey Sago - that was really cool. I like the idea, the way you animated it (Grab... Pull... haha!) and your shaders.
Great stuff!

Well done Sago,
That is a really cool animation. Looks really good and the story is very original.

Thanks people, I'm glad I could entertain you all.
I just changed the host for the animation. Please let me know if there are any problems downloading... or even let me know if it works, cause I haven't got a clue.
Love y'all,

Wow - that really is quite desturbing.
Veeery good. no crits at all.
Welcome to the gallery Sago. Well deserved with this one.

Yesssss!!!! Bravo Maestro!! Haaaa, O, Ho, Ho, Ho, Aaaaa, ... Excellent!! Sago 4 the next Orange Team!!!

lmao that was really funny, great job sago! :D

Great movie. Idea is excellent!:D:D:D
great job Sago =)
Really nice style you got there,
cheers!

Got enough praise yet? Excellent work! Can't wait to see some of your other pics moving :P
Got enough praise yet?
It's tough, but I think I can cope with it.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/big_smile.gif
But seriously, much appreciated. When I finished the animation I couldn't see anymore if it was good or funny or not. I was also busy overcoming my technical stupidity, think that worked out okay for this animation.
Get well soon,
Sago
It's kind of surprising to me that this is your first animation- so much detailed movement, great use of shape keys... Nothing that a first time animation usually has. Whenever I see the words "First animation", I expect a rotating cube, but seeing this obviously changed that...
Framedworld
04-Oct-06, 12:56
Loved it! I should really read the whole thing before asking a question that was already answered!
Well done Mr Goedegebure (don't want to cause any "first name basis" offence).
The breathing action was excellent - nice head versus body movement. I don't want you to give anything away - but is that Super WuMan stuck in that guy's stomach?
Suzanne finalist for sure.
Alden - Thanks. I'm sure I had my 'rotating cubes' phase in the very beginning, when it comes to animating. All necessary to learn the ins and outs. But they were just tests, I would never even concider showing them as an animation, when some other people would. It's all about setting your own standards a wee bit higher.
Mr D - Thanks. The breathing action was actually quite easy. I had 3 bones: one for the body, one for the head and one for the jaw. For breathing I just needed to move the body-bone up and down; with auto-IK enabled the head moved in the opposite direction automatically.
Btw, no Wu-Man inside their. dunno why, but I called him Roger.
Then what about heads? how do you go about moddeling heads? Box-moddeling?
Sorry, no boxmodelling. I mostly start with a cube, make a nose out of it, and from there it's just a matter of extruding and moving verts.
Great animation!! Yes I think is boring... but also for the big man to have someone speaking inside...
Also your host is really ok for me... 700kb/s... never had before...
Sorry, no boxmodelling. I mostly start with a cube, make a nose out of it, and from there it's just a matter of extruding and moving verts.
thats sounds very much like box moddeling too me.. ;)
thats sounds very much like box moddeling too me.. ;)
No, it ain't, you sillybuns. Only the nose is box modeled, the rest is edge modeled.

Sheer brilliance! I like it!
Absolutely brilliant, loved it :)
Just great!! Loved every second of it! Great voice characterisation too. (" Man, I'm bored...". Hilarious.)
For me, this is one of the best Blender 'shorts' (others would be shorts like MiniThru aka Chicken Chair and Infinitum.)
One of the few shorts that can stand on it's own (in stead of being a "Hey, look what Blender can do!")
The form of the short also makes it a nice candidate for translating to .3GP and playing it on Mobiles.
Some months ago I saw that character in your photobucket, freaky! Now it is animated, yay! Btw, I like your work and your style!
This one is great, but I'm gettin ill when the hand comes up, and that finger-in-the-mouth-almost-causing-vomiting-sound comes :D
The only thing that bothers me, is that he has only got 4 fingers, but that's a detail. Good work, good result, good (but short) entertainment! :)
yup i agree with the others realy cool cant make it better
haha, you cracked me up, sago.
I'd love to have seen roger crawl out of the guy's mouth. or someone to actually pull roger out!
Jacco;
PS: you've got andy's blessing.. this is going the podium.

i downloaded it but all i see is a black screen. im running it in windows media player 10. any suggestions to get it going?
Sago, that's just brilliant, and hilarious! Can't say much, since they ---^ already said everything and more, but I'd like to see more of these animations with that great sense of humor of yours.
i downloaded it but all i see is a black screen. im running it in windows media player 10. any suggestions to get it going?
Try using VLC (http://www.videolan.org/).
heheh, pretty good job sagor, er, sago, but one question, where the hell is SuperWu? What is this non-SuperWu stuff?
The only thing that bothers me, is that he has only got 4 fingers, but that's a detail.
Argh... I knew I forgot something...... okay, not really. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/big_smile.gif Btw, every fingers also has just 2 bones.
nitrofreak06 - don't know man. Do you have the xvid codec (http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/)? You can also try the version here (http://www.blender3d.com/cms/Festival_2006.808.0.html).
heheh, pretty good job sagor, er, sago, but one question, where the hell is SuperWu? What is this non-SuperWu stuff?
I am very versatile. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/eyebrow2.gif
HAHAHAHAH
beautiful, and hilarious....
and gross
Ha, that was pretty funny. (Grr. you get it all: Blender Gallery, Suzanne Award . . . lucky bugger.)
Heh, congrats on all that. There's not much else to say that hasn't already been said. Really liked the weight on the head motion when the hand would come out and jerk it around. Would've liked more head movement when the hand was in perhaps, but that's probably just me.
So awesome work, and congratulations again!

Heh, that was some good comic stuff there. Nice job on the modeling and the animations.
Wanted Bob
Some pretty cool stuff you got there, pal. The Outer Man does get static at the end, which makes it a bit lifeless, but still, it's brilliant. By your standards it's still some years 'till my first animation... :(
Seriously, Pixar would be glad to have you in the team! WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING IN HOLLAND?!?!?
Keep up the great work!
Thanks all, especially LGM.... must've been really hard, because he hates my guts now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/big_smile.gif
Hey 4Daniel, thanks... but where the hell have you been? Anyway, no need to despair, you're still young, you'll get there eventually.
Never stop believing in Rock'n'Roll http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/RocknRoll.gif
Sago
Great stuff.
I really enjoyed that. Great inspiration for a young blenderhead such as myself.
Thanks! Quite amusing.
That was pretty cool Sago. Wow cant wait to see what will happen when your animation skills get as good as your modelling ones!
Though I would like to have seen the animaton of the man being ripped out of the old guys mouth though :P
Thanks guys.
btw Amped, you've got a really cool avatar. Yeah, haha.... thought I should let you know....

I hoping that someone can point in in the direction to get a media player that plays these .avi files, I have winamp and wmp11 but neither of these are working, is there codecs I need?
Thanks in advance!

I found that VLC plays these, cool animation, I kept waiting for him to come out lol!
Yeah Sago, its sexier than a picture of me :P
Wow, that is good job. Can we know how many you pays for ResPower ?
