View Full Version : WC #202: Cervical Spinal Cord Crush
Hello people,
today I'll be sharing with you a very special Martial Arts technique called the Cervical Spinal Cord Crush,
or short the CSCC.
My initial plan was to show the Fist of the Dolphin, but when I asked RobertT -the only person who masters this technique- to share some insights, he told me it was too dangerous and the technique requires extreme concentration, focus and attention or something... I dunno, I wasn't really listening.
So anyway, the Cervical Spinal Cord Crush:

The CSCC is executed (or 'performed' if preffered) from behind the opponent (or 'playbuddy' if preferred), about 10-12 inch in between.
The key to a succesfull CSCC:
1) speed - it should be fast (extreme fast if possible).
2) fingers - hold the fingers as if they are used to 'scoop'. No fist.
The CSCC can be mastered in different degrees, with the highest being the one when you have taken out all 7 cervical vertebrae (http://www.szote.u-szeged.hu/Radiology/Anatomy/skeleton/pics/neck16l.jpg), holding them in your hand, still in one piece and attached to each other.
For practice of the CSCC it's advised to perform it on:
1) your younger brother or sister
2) old people (35+)
Some tips:
- always ask your opponent before performing to stand still and to open their mouth (this may not always work)
- makes a killer game at parties; divide everyone into pairs, and try to get the highest degree (go for all 7 vertebrae!)
- there's a small chance you'll succeed the first time, just keep practicing
So have fun and watch your back,

LOL.... Definitely voting for you in the weekend challenge...
Yikes, I'm guessing that's a technique you can't pull twice on the same person.
Stupid! Offensive showing of martial viollence is no prob for some of you but if it goes to special body parts (eg those harmless nipslips) you are going 'Eeeeeeek what's that?'
in german: Ich denk mir meinen Teil.
Anyway i noticed this as another case of bigotery.
aswell it is meant as veeeeeeeeeeeery black humor
man that is totally cool. Gotta love your style.
I don't really understand the point of lexi...but I find this quite funny!
Keep up the great work

Just one question! What if the guy bites down when your hand is out their mouth?

great image, reminds me a lot of mad magazine for some reason, they always had silly stuff like this, haha, the new asian symbol is cool too,
only thing i thought maybe to change is to see the full head and to see the arm from the back going through the head, but i guess its not so easy to blender with mummy arm these days........haha......lol........jk

This is so Sago-ish! Disturbing yet lovely! Great!:D
Sadly though, this makes me cry: "Blender needs sub surface scattering!":(

KYAAAA!! - me practicing CSCC -
Alden - Thanks. But be sure to check out the other works in the WC.
Friday13 - Hey man. I saw your original post here, before you changed it, and you're a really funny guy. If you could somehow use that kind of humor in your blenderwork you can go a long way.
lexi - Nope, haven't got a single clue what you're talking about. But welcome to the club, I guess.
Ecks - Thanks, great to hear from you man. Yeah, I don't understand that lexi either, but best is to nod and keep smiling. And whenever he turns around, with the back of his neck in eyesight... "KYAAAA!!"... that'll do the trick.
Grape Ape - I think Shamen answered it well. But perhaps it's best to just try it out. :D
shr1k - I know, I know. The ear is something I will be re-using forever and ever (with some minor modifications). The rest of the modeling is already hard enough for me.
Shamem - you said it best, man.
BgDM - Thanks. Love you the most.
Wu - No no, not the back of his head; it would destroy the composition. And yes yes, the Asian is cool indeed. It's Sago in Katakana (one of 4 Japanese writing). Sorry, there's no Wu in Japanese. But I think I will be using mine more often in futureworks.
BleedForMe - Practice dude, practice. And don't forget there are no rules and boundaries. Be original, be provoking, be funny and be an asshole.
C0Rkn0T - Thanks man. I'll keep on working with those expressions, and the teeth.
Ven0mSevenX - Of course I can give you the settings of the skin material (spec, rampshader, emitting-value, bumpmap, ...) but it won't help you much. You also have to take into account the imagetexture (which I won't show; my best hidden secret), lighting setup, AO, world-colours, colourcorrection in Post-Pro. Lotsa stuff.
enricoceric - Whoo, great to hear from you. You're fantastico.
snelleeddy - Hi. Thanks and cheers, man.
The M.h.p.e. - "Sago-ish", I like the sound of that (better than gay-ish). And yes, that ear is screaming for some decent SSS.
Cheers all,
Sago
Don't know how you keep a good balance of blenders real an non photoreal images.:confused:I'm more on the NPR side.
But this one is top notch regardless.
Now about that skin shader.....

Katakana (one of 4 Japanese writing).
4? are you including romaji (english character representation) cos I only studied Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji...is there one I missed O'sago san?
RONIN - Thanks man. Unfortunately not everybody knows making something look photorealistic doesn't necessarily mean it has to be realistic (which can result in fantastic looking, but oh so boring images).
And yeah, about that skinshader.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/eyebrow.gif

Dude, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. But that's okay man, I'm sure what you said was pretty filthy, so it's probably the best not to know.
