Ferrari had a design competition a while back where they invited young designer from the worlds top design schools to design a new sports car for them, i was less then impressed by the finalists to say the least so i decided to make my own concept for a new Ferrari.

Oooh, it's got something. The renderings are really good, especially the blur adds a great feeling (some of the edges look too sharp somehow...might be due to a bad render quality?).
The car itself is very nice, too, the brakes are awesome, as are the materials, in my opinion. Good stuff!

Very impressive looking renders. Of the model itself I'm not too keen about the back side of the car, it looks like it stops far too quickly whit such a sudden curve. But I'd drive that, if someone would be foolish enough to give me the keys.

looks like you have clean mesh.
Is the osa at the max, cause the lines are not smooth.

But it is an intresting idea.

very good looking model....the renders are great too....however,....there are some features that arent very ...ferrari....the rims ar too big for a ferrari style car and i dont think it suits it i also think the line where the windows meet the est of the body is way to high and makes it look like a muscle car wanna be....if it wasnt for the fact that u were saying it should be a ferrari i would say it is a 5 star model...it just doesnt have the right look to be a ferrari....the lights have the right look but thats about it ....great m,odel thouhg

awsome modeling and rendering, but persoanlly i don't like the general LOOK of the car.

looks good apart from the very front of the car in front of the wheels, being a performance car it should be sleek and designed to cut through the air but the front has a snub nosed look that would cause some major drag, apart from that looks great

Nice modelling and light, I think I would have preferred with the front not raised.

Your modeling technique with such a polygon economy for the overall car is amazing ! You are an exellent modeler, and the rendering make a good use of internal rendering.
Great job

You should submit it to Ferrari. It is much better than those concepts, I saw them on msn. Most of them were pretty boring. This car rocks.

Good Work, but I think, for a Ferrari, the nose is realy too short.

Very nice car and awesome render, but it just doesn't look like a Ferrari. The headlights and the sharp edges remind me a bit of modern Lamborghinis, which is of course not bad at all. :D

Btw: the ferrari logo on the back is mirrored wrong.

i´ve made some small changes to the front, thanks for all your comments no one seems to think it looks like a Ferrari but thats a good thing i guess at least it means i wasnt just copying previous models.

i have to be honest and tell you that actaully i dont like the car all that much, it kind of looks like an overweight Chevy Corvette. However thats a damn nice render and the brake detail gives it realism like nothing is missing.

Did you Photoshop the highlights, or atleast embellish them a bit? Cause they're damn beautiful!

I was freaking out thinking that this was purely a node-based render, but it's not. I'm also happy to see that your mesh also isn't that heavy with polygons which really suprised me. Regardless of the fact that this car doesn't look like a previous ferrari, I thought it was a really interesting car. I'm always impressed by the looks of concept cars. Then when they're actually manufactures they never look the same -- not as sharp. So you get an A+ in that department.

What kind of lighting set-up is going on in this piece?

i love the design, everything is just a tad out there, and it seems to have 2 backs and no front :). How did you do the motion blur and smoke in the last render? photoshop, or in blender. and i think someone asked this befor, but i couldn't find the answer(sorry if u have answered alread), what is it rendered in?

dannybear very very very very nice work. I like the design. My one draw back is that if looks alarming a lot like the new Ford GT concept car. You might want to check into that.

From a technical aspect, you have done really a great job. 5 stars from me.

dannybear, fantastic stuff. I LOVE the front end of this design, especially the fact that ti rises above the wheel wells. Very unique, something I'd love to see realized.

Can you possible make a wallpaper sized version of the first image of the first post? That's my favorite shot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/sago/Pics/Emoticons/Yes.gif
