View Full Version : Incongruitastic, episode one (the second episode)
http://www.weirdhat.com/incongruitastic/one2.jpg
8.6 MB MPEG, 1 minute 6 seconds long (http://weirdhat.com/incongruitastic/one.mpg)
It's got a coherent plot now! Ignore everything that happened in episode Zero (http://weirdhat.com/incongruitastic/zero.mpg). Don't ignore everything that was in episode Zero though.
Also, I've set up a website (http://www.weirdhat.com/incongruitastic/) for this now that there's more than one of them.
Supremely Random. :D Taht was a vrey rdanom veido!
Bravo. This is awesome. Keep up the good work!
Very good! Window on the switch... :) Perfect.
I'v just downloaded both of them. I'll tell you next time what i think because i'm a little wiped after watching from last friday looped archiv of historical clip of The Beatles Hey Jude. Screen looks gorgeous.
um.... wow. that was cool. and random. wow.

I don't think there has been anything super-fantastic about the visuals in these so far, but conceptually they have been fantastic... this one even more so than the last. And I really enjoy the animation.
I hope you continue to work on these.
the first one was more on my taste, the flow was better, especially if you were listening to the music. i think, this one would've required different type of music.. slower, more mysterious.
i love the walking tie-rack-guy.
DESTROY ALL TIE FIGHTERS!

Great Animation. These are the kind of videos that need to watched frame by frame to see everything. 4 Stars!

I like that lighting inside the room, looks a bit like the lighting in The Incredibles when they are in the jewellery store.
Can you describe the lighting setup? Is it ambient occlusion?
Mike
It's just one spotlight pointing down at the room, one spotlight pointing up at the ceiling, and one spotlight near the camera pointing at the characters. I don't think it looks that good, I was planning to redo it for the next episode.

Ok, thanks.
I just recently found out about the Shadow Map Bias setting, and have achieved much better results when I've turned it down to ~.010 - .090 than when it was left at the default 1.00 setting !
What setting did you use for your spots?
Do you know if that bias setting is a common CGI lighting term?
When I use two spots though, I'm getting a "fishbone" pattern where the lights interact. Any idea how to eliminate it?

This is a far cry from the original you posted. There is definately a plot this time, and pacing is nicer. The animation was quite nice I thought.
I'm under the impression that the white toothpaste-blob riding the horse scene was done with heavy, node tweaking. Right?
Is there some sort of connection between the 'tie' character and the character in the shirt+tie in the picture on the wall?
Aligorith
I increased the contrast... I don't think that really constitutes heavy tweaking...
The guy in the picture on the wall is the turtle head guy from episode zero, and he's not wearing a tie. The tie character is pulling on his arm.
Good job, WeirdHat. I especially like the donkey's running animation, it's very fast and pleasant to watch.
The right direction is down. When you choose that way you'll go out from the other side. Some elements i had to review frame by frame. You're crazy. I like your humour. First class ;)
dude that is awsome! really LSD :P

I know I've said this before, but HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP! That was amazing!!! It's hard to express how impressed I am by that Blender amazingness.
This is... how did you make it so fast? The other one only came out... a month or so ago? But then again, you were amazing in "Pitching Lucas" too. Like, almost instantaneous. But wow. I mean, the models, the animation-OH! The animation! That was... the little things! Like when the marshmallow guy arrived in the room, and the foot scuffed a little bit with nervousness, and he pursed his lips, and the hands on the hips by the pipe-cleaner guy. In fact, ALL the animation is spot on. I've watched so many parts over and over. Wow. How do you do it?
And the ideas! All the different ideas! I love it! All with one smooth camera move, with ideas that continue over the course of different OTHER ideas. Like the trapdoors, and the greenscreen, and the "old western". Holy crap! There's the picture of the guy at the beginning, on the wall, with them all trying to stop him. And when everything goes crazy, there's this blur coming in the window, tan and blue... with a duck at the end...
I'm hyped. Some day I hope to have as much skill as you. That was hardcore.
This was pretty awesome and the anims were dead on as expected. My only gripe would be to slow the pace of the piece down some. The words written I couldn't read nearly in time and I still don't know what it says during the flashing-ness sequence, can't ninja pause fast enough. Just a smoother pacing would do wonders.
Concept and pretty much everything else was fantastic.
This is excellent!!! Brawo, your animation skills are outstanding! *****

Hah. But that's the genius! There's too MUCH too see. I love that feeling. Just "creative overload".
Of course, that didn't stop me from frame by framing (windows media player can do that, btw, go to "View" then "enhancements" then "Play speed settings", don't know if that's useful or not)
Awesome animation! You got quite some skills there. And I LOVE your humor!
To the "want to watch it slow-pace lovers":
Just load the movie into blender sequencer and you can watch it frame by frame. :)
I don't know why... but I think I like the first one better.
