bullx,
very good!
but is he half discouraged, not?
ah! the illumination is burst, it seems that he is entering in a type of portal.

The expression really did made me think "lost battle" rather than "to the competition". Really great pose and original, erm, vehicle :)

He looks like he is taking his pillow to the couch during his wife's monthly time.

But great model!

Geez, I love your character, and the scene is just, just, brilliant :)

I really like these challenge entries that are different from the masses...

but is he half discouraged, not?

That's because it's clearly Marvin the Paranoid Android. :D
Cue Alan Rickman : "Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to ride a monowheel..."

If it's not supposed to be Marvin.. meh, I love it anyway. Great modelling work. The wall is a bit bright IMHO though.

this what was in my mind when i started to put the scene together:

few minutes just before the competition begins, the bot is not the driver of the unicycle, he is just a kind of service bot in the task of taking the vehicle on the track (maybe you can guess that from the proportions of saddle and bot)

the bot is discuraged, it can be just because he knows there is something wrong whit the asset or because of his "marginal role" in the team, it is up to you to create a scenario for what you see in the picture.

the ideal approach is like if you have found this picture somewhere, and you cant' have explanations about what' s happened, the only thing you can do is use your imagination.

thank you.
bye

you could also imply that the little guy's body language shows a slow, steady determination because he is so small and that f-uni is big and heavy and he's concentrating on the upcoming race.
very nice F1 entry!

My thought was pure concentration.
The driver looks down to avoid being distracted from the action surrounding him minutes before he races.
Nevertheless, serious good work.

Hot damn, that's some wallpaper right there :D
However, I note what looks like Adolf Hitler on the wall to the right.

Scary. it's like that virgin mary toast on ebay.

Quite freaky

if this recall somehow hitler i have to modify it.
not in my intention at all, just a combination of casuality and immagination (your :-))

it's a pity... i was proud to say it is 100% blender with 0 postproduction at all, now to keep this sentence true i should render again...

jazzroy

i think the similarity to mr adolf is not evident.
every scratch can look like something.
don't worry about it

basse
17-May-06, 11:07
well, it also looks like charles chaplin with tilted hat. but if you want, I think you can easily even leave all those white spots away.. (along with green ones) they seem a bit out of place anyways.

but, about the pic. great design, I like it alot. also colors..
I've seen that little robot somewhere before? splashscreen contest entry or something perhaps?

great image! no crits at all, it is a "one sho(r)t story".

17-May-06, 19:50
Greay render. Very excellent I hope someday to be as talented as that. And the hitler thing...you only notice it when your told it looks like hitler. I have but one crit :P nothing major but it seems that the bike may be too large for the little guy...the seat looks a little oversized but thats just me :P.

Ahh also I love seeing wireframes to see what you modeled and what you did for textures...if its not too big a problem could you show off some wireframes? Truely awesome work though.

for the proportion issue:

the bot is not the driver of the unicycle, he is just a kind of service bot in the task of taking the vehicle on the track (maybe you can guess that from the proportions of saddle and bot)
and reagrding the wireframe+opengl, here it is.

I think it would be absolutely PERFECT if his head were up, looking towards the track.
