View Full Version : Changing the framerate of an animated texture
In a recent work, I have an animated texture mapped to an object. This texture is 80 frames long, but I want to extend this time by changing the framerate to one frame per second.
However, I don't know how to change the framerate in Blender. I presume I can't change it in the avi file itself, so my question is, can I change the framerate of an animation clip for an animated texture in Blender, and if so, how?
If you need any more information, please ask, and I will happily present it.
oops, miunderstood I think, gimme a sec.
Edit: Ok, are you using an actual movie image for your texture? If so, there's a box in the Anim and Movie tab that says Fie/Ima. What that does is tell blender how many frames of the animated texture go with the renders. So if you set this to 10 let's say, it will render the first frame of the animation for 10 renders before it goes to the next.
This what you mean?
Edit2:
Hehe, too late :)
But won't that affect the framerate of the whole animation, not just the texture?
To clarify, I want the texture to go at 1 FPS while keeping the rest of the animation at 25 FPS.

Anim & Movie panel, Fields / Image slider... for example a Fie/Ima of 30 (for a NTSC 29.97fps render) would make each frame of the video last 1 second.
If you want to test where you are, move the frame slider to a point and hit F12, then go back to your texture... it'll say on the far right side where the movie settings are, xxxxx frs, yyyy cur to indicate what frame is currently being used as the texture.
Play with it, it's easier to do than it is to explain. :D
Thanks, that's working now!
