Sorry if it's been asked before.
AO works with raytrace but if i put "Traceable" Off in material shaders, the material gets AO the same.

Is there a way to remove materials from AO?

Try to turn down the AMB setting in the shader tab. Its usually at 0.500 but turn it to 0 and AO wont affect it. But i think it still casts AO shadows on other stuff.

Thank you for your answer, but i was looking for a way of removing meshes from the calculation.

When the rendering in passes feature is finished for the next version of Blender, you should be able to do that. In the meantime, put those objects on a different layer and render them separately without AO... then composite them in post.
