Well, ok, fancy title aside. Hi again, I figure since I made one post might as well make several more =). I have a question about the abilities of Blender. I used to have a technique for making extremely realistic fire, lightning, and smoke using the falloff shader in 3ds max. What this shader could do would make it so that the texture was "additive." It was semi-transparent, so when it overlapped with itself it would get something of a glow effect going.
Here are two renders I created using this technique in 3ds max.
http://www.rogueskies.net/sfs/gunblast.jpg <-- The fire surrounding the bullet.
http://www.rogueskies.net/sfs/crimsonlightning.jpg <-- The lightning blast.
My question is. Is there a way to mimic this in Blender? A way to make a material add to the brightness level of objects it overlaps with?
Thanks a bunch.
God Bless,
-Dan
