...after being incredibly mad at blender...

I cannot seem to set one material on one object, and another material on another object. It always makes all objects the smae color and texture. I had found a way around, but now it dosen't seem to work. HELP!!!!!

Are you sure you are creating a new material, don't you change the name of the same one believing you are creating a new one ?

Also make sure you are adding your new 'objects' in Object mode rather than in Edit mode. Otherwise they are all part of the same mesh.
