Heya guys!

I've been using Adobe Premiere 6.0 now, and the help file really sucks, so I'm basically in the dark about how to do ANYTHING other than basic putting-together and cutting.

I need stuff like, WHY will transparencies in .GIF and .PSD files work, and so forth.

So, I need:

1) Someone who knows Premiere well to answer my questions

OR

2) Suggestions on other video editing tools, doesn't matter how expensive/cheap they are.

Thanks.

Alot of people around here use VirtualDub and Zweistein, as well as the on board video sequence editor in Blender.

I use Ulead Media Studio Pro (http://www.ulead.com/msp/runme.htm) and find it very good and very fast.
The documentation is available in PDF on their site if you want to have a look.

Well my roommates Sony Vaio came with Premeire 6.0 LE bundled in with WinXP, so he didn't get a manual for it. What I mean to say is, that accusing people of piracy without knowing for sure is not too nice. ;)

That doesn't comply with anything. Manual's are very often available for free whether you bought the software or not. Take a look at Sonic Foundry (now Sony) software for instance. Also, a lot of software can be purchased as downloads - with manuals often offered as separate downloads to reduce size of files so its up to you to take the initiative and also download the manual/help files etc. The absence of a manual in no way implies pirated software - just as the presence of a manual in no way implies original software. Even if it's a printed book. You can buy those separately too.

if big software comes bundled with gfx card or whatever, there is no manual available??? what kind of a deal is that? ok, perhaps not a book, but atleast something on a cdrom or so I'm sure.

it's almost like bundling the gfx card with the adobe premier manual, but not the software.. heh.

This sort of thing happens alot for some reason. I got some stuff on my machine that was the same way. In fact just the other day, I found a graphics program that was just sitting in archives, uninstalled, fermenting I guess (Jasc Paint Shop Pro, and Jasc Animation Shop Pro). Also it came with a copy of the game 'MorrowWind', but no manual or instructions of note. A couple of other programs too.
