I rarely use my real player for anything, but it prompted me to update it a couple of days ago, and hesitantly, I did so. I wondered why it was taking so long to update,...turns out it was installing a whole new program, and it scrapped the old one when it finished. This is a really nice player, (!) that I will actually use! Supports all sorts of file formats too. :D

are you mentioning realOne?

considering previous versions I'll stay away from it on my computer

and I was quite annoyed about how they didn't follow standard (windows or linux) interface standards when they re-did it themselves.

other than codecs, what makes it better?

Yes I was reffering to real1. What I like about it, is that along with alot of file support, it has a very straightforward interface, and it seems to run more smoothly than: windows media player, nero media player, and quick time player. Granted it is an invasive program.

The Linux version (of RealONE) still sucks tho.. (Motif.. *cough*)

They're currently rewriting that player to make use of Gtk+ 2, which should make it alot nicer :)

One feature I just noticed after crashing it by flipping through videos too fast....: Auto repairs itself when it crashes. (thumbs up) Not bad.
