Hi!

Can one bring AutoCAD .dwg files in blender? Should I use some other format while exporting from CAD? Is there a capable converter for this purpose?

I am trying to find answer to these questions, but honestly I am getting little bit confused here. Could someone kindly help me with this problem?

free and opensource converter from DWG to DXF
you can also preview and print your dwg, linux and win (experimental on win)

http://lx-viewer.sourceforge.net/

from sf.net description:
LX-Viewer will allow you to open, view and print DWG or DXF files,
typically used in CAD related technical drafting.
You may zoom and pan the drawing normally and save to DWG or DXF from
AutoCAD v2.5 to 2002 +BMP, PNG and SVG format
