Hi all blender ppl.

Cinepaint is an offshoot of the Gimp made for film and used in scooby doo and stewart little
Works in windows and linux

Cinepaint 1.18 can now preview tranformations, this is great for making tiled textures.

I often need to remove perspective from a photo to make a tiling texture, when you cant preview you transformation you just have to guess and keep redoing in until you get it right.

The other great thing about cinepaint is the clone tool.

too bad, still as win32 user you need to compile it yourself :|

Yes, it used to be called filmgimp.

Its GIMP with a twist... It can handle a series of images for rotoscoping or color correcting where gimp cannot do this as easily. It also supports a higher bit depth and a slew of other features. The interface is supposedly going to be changing over the next series of versions. Very good program... just can't handle CMYK yet. Still not a replacement for photoshop! But a good second place!
